Pinch harmonics on the bottom E string
Well I have a question as usual..
I can play pinch harmonics on every string BUT the bottom E string. Is it just that it is harder to play pinch harmonics on this string because it's thicker or do I have to do something different with my picking hand on this string. Like move my thumb down or up more or something...
I'm just wondering this because Zakk Wylde uses pinch harmonics a lot on the bottommost string (although he plays in drop D).

Well I picked up my guitar again and I started trying the pinch harmonics on the E. I think I got it this time but I might record it and post it to see if I got it right..

Just practise them, over and over.
You got the same problem I had, but reverse, because it used to be nearly impossible for me to play pinch harmonics on the HIGH E-string. :O

Is it maybe a difference with guitars and amps? Because the high E is by far the easiest for me. It rings out every time I play it in the right spot.. I guess I'll just work on them. I got the low one a few times but it was pretty weak.

It's definitely not the amps, so it ought to be the guitars in that case... or perhaps the players.

lol Probably the players. It's probably a difference in thumb position that I need to work on or something stupid like that.

Yeah its just practice... there are natural harmonics that arent over any frets approxiately an inch from the bottom fret... just a matter of finding that sweet spot.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
