Soloing

How the hell can I improve my soloing. It sounds terrible. Should I just work on finger speed and stuff like that? I mean I guess I can play the notes but its really slow... I can usually play most of a song but the solo sounds terrible.

Like I'm having a lot of trouble with that solo right now. I can play pretty much the entire song but that dang solo.

Record that part and post it so we can hear what problems your having. Playing badly fast isn't the answer.

Well I don't have anything to record with atm because my brother stole my little speaker thing and it's probably at his dorm.
What i'm doing now is trying to learn the solo and play it slow because I defenitely cant even come close to playing it fast.

Is there anything that you would suggest to improve my soloing in general? It's usually not just pieces of the solo that I have trouble with but the whole thing in general.

It's the Avenged sevenfold Chapter four solo. It's played near the end but for a little bit M. Shadows is yelling over it.

Hmmm. I don't think your basic skills are ready yet for the Plane Talk material, though you could check the requirements and see. Your best bet is to practice that a bar at a time slowly paying attention to the bends and vibratos. Listen to the recording till you can hear it note for note in your head. That will help with the timing.

I'm guessing that my basic skills probably aren't up to par with Plane Talk material yet but where can I check the requirements anyways?

Right now I'm just going to stick to practicing the rest of the song until I have it completely down and then I will move onto the solo playing it slowly and making sure I have everything right.
