Simple tab help needed

How is this tab of Scarborough Fair played. Specifically, in what order are the strings strummed/fretted etc. It seems so scattered that I'm having a hard time making it out. Thanks alot for the help

Verse:
$ Am (*) G Am
E ---0---------|---0---------|---------------|---0---------||
B ---------3---|---------0---|---0-----1-0---|---------3---||
G -----0-----0-|-----2-----2-|-----0-------0-|-----0-----0-||
D -------4-----|-------2-----|-------0-2-----|-------4-----||
A -0-----------|-0-----------|---------------|-0-----------||
E -------------|-------------|-3-------------|-------------||
Are you going to Scarborough Fair?

Hi joeski.

The tab has lost its formatting. It should be written in a fixed width font so that everything lines up. I brought it into an html editor, turned it into just that, then into an image and uploaded it just so you can see how it should look. It will make more sense now.

Now you can actually see the sequence. Time moves from right to left, and they should be played in the order they come. If they stack up on top of each other, you play them at the same time. There's one instance of that above, in the third bar.

I had a play of it and it's a very nice fingerpick indeed. Just take it very slowly at first and get your fingers to do it, be deliberate and concentrate a lot. Soon enough, your fingers will do it automatically.

Have fun!

Thanks so much! Right now I'm trying to getting my hands to interpret what I'm reading as I look at the tab.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
