& someone here suggested practise without looking ... while watching tv perhaps ..making changes form chord to chord without strumming.... it really helped me. that and playing each string (appegio) when fingering a chord to check for mutting ... it does come.. hang in there

Practice has been mentioned here. In addition to practicing, it's very important that you practice!

I just listened to your little scale work you posted and it sounds pretty good ..

I am omly a beginner myself I have found sitting looking into a mirror watching my fingers has helped me alot ..

When I play with another guitarist that is what I end up doing watching them and following them ..

There's a saying 'First you get good, then you get fast'. Play slowly at first and with time and yes, practice, you will speed up.

Theory is knowing about. Practice is knowing how.

Chords are hard for everyone starting out. Like the one fella said, practice! After a wile they become second nature and your muscles will get stronger and your finger memory will improve. Plus your making your hand, fingers and arm do things it's never done before so it's uncomfortable but that will all go away and you'll have a great feeling of accomplishment which will push you further. I remember thinking I'll never be able to play bar chords but now I don't even think about it. Don't stop and be stubbornly determined to play! You wont regret it. It'll happen with persistance.

I agree with the practice while watching TV theory. I do it all the time. Whether it be chords or running scales and learning licks. I was also kinda backwards on the way I learned chords. I learned how to play bar chords before I went to the open ones. I could change faster with the bar chords. I have just recently started using an open C instead of the A shape bar. I have been playing around with the guitar for 25 yrs.

what really helped me was going into the bathroom turning the lights out
and switching between chords over and over and over.
