Finger-Picking Patterns Reference Guide

Hi All

I want to request you all to Kindly suggest me a few Finger-Picking Patterns which I plan to practice everyday for a few Minutes. I plan to practice them with a Metronome, gradually increasing the speed, So that My Picking Hand would develope both "ACCURACY" and "SPEED"

If I may suggest and if you all agree, Can we make this thread a FINGER-PICKING PATTERNS Reference-Guide, like, where all the experienced players can post one or more Finger-Patterns (From Basic to Advanced), which I feel would be a great resource for us Beginners to refer to and do a few Warm-up and Building Exercises. I think a Short-Session like that, before we start Practicing the Songs would be a good idea.

Just a Suggestion, Sorry if my Idea is Bad

Kindest Regards
Kush

Hi Scott !!!

Thanks for those Pal. I will start my practicing with the 4 you've given
I Plan to make the below as a Daily Routine (before starting actual practice)
I will use a Timer Combined Metronome (which I downloaded from http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/B...ome_Timer.html ) and will follow the below schedule I've made :

1. 10 Minutes of Various Chromatic Finger-Strength Exercises using a Flat-Pick (using alternate picking) - For developing the Fretting Hand.

2. 10 Minutes of Various Finger-Picking Patterns (open-strings, so that I can concentrate fully on the Picking-Hand)

3. And I'll repeat 1 & 2 again after a short rest.

I Plan to gradually increase the Tempo and possibly time too.

Any comments on this ? Sorry if I'm being very kiddish , but I thought it will be good to have more control over the instrument which would I guess make learning enjoyable !!!

Kindest Regards
Kush

I did this every day for about a month and still do it about once per week... gives you the basics of fingerstyle including doing pinches with easy chords

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
