Tuning with the Tuner

Hey everyone,

I'm new to the forums and just started playing guitar and had some questions regarding my tuner. I currently use a Korg GA-30 tuner. Now if i wanted to tune 1/2 step down would I just press the flat button once? I ask this because when I keep pushing the flat button 5 flat signs come up, was wondering what that meant?

(D#, A#, F#, C#, G#, D#) (Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb) These are both 1/2 step down? correct? I suppose my ultimate question is how to tune to, (Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb) with my tuner?

Thanks

The # symbol is "Sharp" which is up a half step.
I'm not sure on the "GA-30" as I use a "CA-30" by Korg, mine has three lights across the top..one with a "b" symbol, a centered light for "correct pitch" and one with a "#" symbol, to step down to "flat" is simply using the appropriate light, be sure to go a tad lower and then bring it back up to the "light-on" so as to keep the proper tension on your string{s}...hope that helps

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
