Question about a certain tuning.

A few months ago I read there was a certain tuning that would allow you to barre all five strings on different frets to get the different major chords. My friend dosn't know how to play the guitar, and I was wanting him to lay down some rhythm for me to solo over.
Big thanks in advance.

You can do that with any open tuning based on a chord.. The strings are tuned to the notes of a chord. The D and G chord are very popular.
Google or wikipedia open tuning and you will find what you are looking for.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
