numb fingers

I have started playing the guitar about 3 monthes ago and have practiced rigorously almost every day. I am developing calluses on my fingers, but the tips of them are almost "numb" which makes fretting difficult because it's hard to determine where my fingertips are on the string. Will this numbness get better or is it something I will have to live with?

The calluses on your fingertips are like wearing thin gloves. You should still feel the strings under your fingers, but you lose some sensitivity. I am not sure what you mean by where your fingers are on the string. As long as your fingers are on the strings as close to the fret in front of them as you can your in the right place.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
