Basic Concepts

Good day All:

I'm trying to find the basic concepts of fingerstyle guitar. How do I take a tune and make it a fingerstyle tune and how is fingerstyle developed? I can listen to tunes but don't understand how to play them.

Thanks

Tom

Tom,
Those are great links Chris has, Steve's (SolidWalnut) lessons are all top drawer. Also look at Kirk's lesson on fingerstyle, a lot of great stuff there also.

Thanks for the quick feedback. I'll try those links and be a little more patient.

Best of luck with that Tom, Fingerstyle is a bit of a challenge, I'm still getting the hang of it slowly.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
