LifeHouse - You and Me [HELP ME]
Hello!
Im now trying to play LifeHouse - You and Me
I need some help from ppl who know how to play!!
I've seen people in youtube and seening people playing it in many differnet chords.. every person is playing different type of chord and i get sort of messed up in which chords to use.
Ultimate-guitar.com gives me a few result but im unsure whuch is better... currently using this chord for verse : G, Cadd9, G/F#, G, Em, D, C
For chorus: G, Em, Cadd9, Em, G, Em, D
The strum pattern im using is D/UDU
So I need to know what chord you all use to play and whether the chord im using will work or not?
Is my strum pattern correct by the way?

Being an old fart, I had to look this one up on You tube first (didn't know whether Life house was the name of the song or the band!!) - but, it's a simple strum - if you listen to the song, whewre the drum comes in with the steady back beat - that's your main down stroke; now; if you just let your wrist relax and let the pick hit the strings with slightly less emphasis up and down 3 times and I would say it's more DuDUDu (the little 'u's are just to get the pick back) you'll find the rythmn comes naturally...
As to the chords, I looked it up on Ultimate and thought the very first tab (with INFO & 166 votes) is probably closest to what you want, however, there is always more than one way to play a song, in this one the trick is get that base note of each chord on each major beat (as above), so you might get away with simplified versions of those chords if its easier for you to play... Good luck

.... and count the beat to yourself as a 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, (the '1' being the main beat)

The song is played in 3/4 timing. The strum pattern I use to play it myself is D_DUDU

Hmm what chords did you use?
Anyway, the one with 133 votes.. I tried that one and it sounded kinda strange.
G followed by Cadd9 is what most youtube people are playing it at... however, the next few chords, people uses different type of chords so im not sure which one to use.

For the verse I use:
320033
x32033
2x0033
x20033
022033
200233
x3x033/x32033

Ok.. After running through it again I'm guessing what isn't sounding right to you is the end of the 2nd bar(end of the progression).
Here is exactly how I play the progression:
320033 - D_DU_U
X32033 - D_DU_U
2X0033 - D_DU_U
X2X033 - D_DU_U
022033 - D_DU_U
200233 - D_DU_U
Now, here comes the part I'm betting is throwing you off:
X30033 - D_ (Hammer on the E[2nd fret D-string] during the missed upstroke)
X32033 - DU_U
Then it's a simple:
X30033 - D_DUDU
To end it.

The last two are versions of Cadd9.
That doesn't help you much.
What I posted is a chord chart. It tells you what Frets to press down.
320033 is a G chord:
3rd fret Low-E / 2nd fret A / Open D+G strings / 3rd fret B+HIgh E strings.
Left to right it is lowest string to highest string.

Hmm alright.. a lot clearer now..
But can anyone justify this?
By using this chord for verse : G, Cadd9, G/F#, G, Em, D, C
For chorus: G, Em, Cadd9, Em, G, Em, D
Can I get a nice tone too? Similar to original?
Im using these chords now and I personally tihnk that the sounds are.. not bad.
