Hey all, I have a question about alternate tunings.. Okay, so I want to play quite a few songs that are in alternate tunings such as E flat. I switch in and out of playing those songs to play standard tuning songs. Is there any way that I can change these songs around and not have to change the tuning of the strings? Would moving them up a fret work?

Tune to Eb and then capo the first fret when you want to play in standard tuning.

If you are playing the songs in a band, then you can just play them in standard tuning. You don`t have to stick to the original key so just play them a semitone higher.

On the other hand if you`re playing along with recordings or backing tracks, you can easily change them to standard tuning using a program such as Audacity - Just shift the pitch up by the required amount to bring it into standard tuning.
