For those new to electrics....

Awhile before I started to really dig into my guitar playing- I wasn't sure if I should get one because they seemed somewhat daunting compared to my simple acoustic guitar. All of the electronic effects and what they did confused me.. I stumbled upon a website called Expert Village: Free video clips, how to videos, and video instruction. At expert village they have many DIY type videos but found some of a man named Gary Schutt. Gary is a guitar expert and has written many different songs all by himself- every part ( If you want to see more of him, google/youtube him. talk about talent! )

In his videos at expert village he demos and explains all the guitar effects and how they are used. and some basics of metal/shredding/advanced playing. I found his videos to be very helpful and very encouraging- they are fast, easy, and free. So for those of you that are thinking about electrics I suggest watching Gary Schutt's videos at expert village.

Here is a link for his first video- you can easily browse the site and find many other helpful videos on just about anything you want.

If I have posted this in the wrong forum please feel free to move it or if we are not supposed to link to certain sites please feel free to remove it and pm me

Have fun everyone
Aubrey

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
