question about a song

in the song 'knocking on heavens door' does anyone know the single notes that are played during the solo, or intro- i obviously know it doesnt have to be the 'exact' notes due to copyright laws, but if anyone could get me close, that would be awesome- i was messing around with g, d, am, and c last night and have the chords down, but i would like to throw in a little pizzaz-

thanks

mojo-

dont laugh- im a beginner- :)

I don't know the intro or lead breaks or anything but here's a little snippet of a strumming pattern I use for this piece - don't know if you'd call it spice, maybe just a dash of salt
This shouldn't present any copyright issues since it's just chords - no melody - and it's just a snippet - but if there is a problem, go ahead and delete it.
So the chords go - G, D, Am then G, D, C. I play the C with the G in the bass - 3rd fret 6th string. Then on the way to the G, I do a little bass run of 3rd fret 6th string, 2nd fret 6th string, open 6th string and then the G. Also when I play the Am I add the G on the 1st string (3rd fret 1st string) seems to give it some extra oomph.
Hope this helps a bit.

I have impovised in a G major scale starting on the A string at the 10th fret. try messing around starting with the G ...you may find you can sound "Slash" like way up the neck with this song

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
