A little more feedback

As some will know, I got into this due to my daughter wanting to learn. She is doing OK and is still picking up the guitar when she wants to.

Well, after a period of time of me just learning a few chords and making sure I can change from one to the other ok, I decided to learn a bit more and step up my learning.

I have the basics of the intro for Smoke on the water, which is what my daughter wanted.

I have learnt Knocking on Heavens Door, which I found fairly simple.

I have also learned the first part of the intro to Love Song by Tesla, I just need to speed it up a little but the hammer ons and pull offs are going ok!

I'm now looking for some nice simple songs similar to knocking on heavens door, to get to grips with, prior to looking at any songs that have dropped d tuning. Need to keep the basics going before confusing myself on other areas.

House of The Rising Sun in Kirks lessons is a good one or one of the tunes in his beginners lessons.

Or another would be "Wing-like" which is the Kirk's version of Little Wing. There are some slides and hammer ons etc, but they can be ignored for now. The chords are beautiful just by themselves.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
