Which guitar should I get?
I am a newbie and I'm picking up the classical guitar.
I have 250-500 dollar budget.
I am wiling to make a long term investment and pay a bit more for a guitar I can keep for a longer time.
(I have a 200$ coupon from Guitar Center so I must buy it there).
I am planning to move into Flamenco in the near future.

I took a look. GC doesn't have much in the way of flamenco guitars. You would be better off doing some digging on the net looking for an axe in your price range.

I'm an advocate of looking in the used section ever since I got my Dean Icon used 6 months ago. I've since gotten new guitars, But I always check the used section. Sometimes you can just find a diamond in the rough. Nothing like a shiney new one, but you can get some really good ones in your price range.

That is your best bet then. In another post, a member had problems with a Cordoba drying out very quickly and becoming damaged. To be safe, read about homemade or retail humidifiers for your guitar case and pick one up.

Are you planning on getting a full size classical?
Yesterday was history, tommrow is a mystery, today is a gift. I'm moving on and starting over. There are things that have been done and past. You cannot change what's done but you can change what has not been. I will fall down and I'll pick myself back up again.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
Buy it now for only $10 |
