Yes just bought book this past x'mas, 2005
I bought this book at x-mas, 2005.
It has some pretty deep stuff in it as far as building a solid foundation to learning the guitar. I envision it will take 4 to 6 months just to master the exercises, maybe a beginner shouldn't use "master". it also has some examples backing up the statements of why you must master the different techniques in the book. I will say that every exercise and technique I've commited to learning from the book really helped so far.
I bought a guitar, my first, a couple days before the book arrived and now I try to follow the exercises in the book for about 15 minute a day. I'm stretching my fingers and trying to toughen my fingertips at the same time.
This book won't be for everyone but I would say if your serious about learning. You will get the book eventually. I chose to start my learning trying to avoid or make the least amount of technical flaws as possible rather than just learn songs.
FYI; I'm 44 yrs old and have wanted to learn for some time. I prefer to shorten the learning curve as much as possible by using a mentor and "Andres" felt like a good choice seeing how the book is all about getting a good foundation only. There is no music in the book, only foundation exercises and techniques and understanding the physical and mental parts to playing.
The guitar is a Breedlove AD200 and so far, less than a month, I love the sound and really like its understated beauty. The short list was between the Breedlove and a Seagull M6.
Best of luck,
Mike
