arpeggios

hi all.i just wondered are there any kind of rules about chord arpeggios? i just got a bit tired of strumming chords so i've picked out a few chords in each key,a picking pattern and started to practice arpeggio progressions.just wanted to make sure i wasn't making any mistakes

Hey Craig,

I play chord arpeggios all the time. Sometimes I play in a pattern (like on Kirks fire and rain). Or sometimes I just pick away in any old order I like .
I reckon if it sounds good it is good.

Arpeggios are a great thing to practice ... especially when you're not just holding down the chord and picking individual notes from it. It's much better when you play those notes as single notes, the way you would play a riff or solo or scale.
