HELP! ringing/buzzing while playing my guitar...

I have a 72 Telecaster Deluxe (not vintage...) that I just bought and I need to know if its defective and if I should return/exchange it for another one (I JUST bought it literally 2 days ago...). There is a lot of ringing/buzzing when I play on my guitar. While plucking open strings I notice buzzing clearly on the 2nd, 3rd, and 6th strings. While playing a note using a fret theres buzzing nearly everywhere on all the strings besides the first which appears to be fine. The ringing seems to be coming from where the neck attaches to the body. What's wrong? ...Please, help...

Sounds like the action may be set too low. If you go to the Guitar Tech forum, UltimateGarageBand posted a great thread about how to do a setup on your guitar and fix that problem. If you don't feel up to doing it yourself, a luthier should be able to get 'er into playing shape for you for a reasonable price.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
