  PlaneTalk review after a year

I started learning guitar about a year and a half ago. Bought PlaneTalk about a year ago. I am not improvising yet because I am still learning mostly rhythm guitar and songs. I believe you need this foundation first so that's what I am working on first. Anyways everything I do on the guitar and I mean EVERYTHING I use the PlaneTalk method as a map. There simply is no better way to keep track of where you are and create any chord you want.
Is this for beginners? Absolutely!!
For the beginner out there learn this method then go back to the basics and learn your chords, strumming, songs etc.. but use PlaneTalk as your map. It will never let you down.
I just wanted to thank you Kirk for your help on the forum and for your great book.

ics,
I could not agree with you more. The question about beginners has been raised more than once about PlaneTalk . I still think its the best roadmap to learning the guitar fretboard.

I bought PT probably 2 years ago and read it for about the 10th time just last night. It's amazing that I always find out something that I have missed! I think that's cuz when I pick it up I'm kinda sub-consciously looking for something, so I read over the top of stuff....dunno. I have taken a lot of Kirk's graphs and charts that are located throughout the book and condensed them on a sheet of paper, so I have the concept on one piece of paper which is very handy for me with chord construction as well as many other things. Perhaps I'm just a slow learner!!!!! ........dunno

Thanks so much for your post, ics1974. I'm so glad that the simple all-powerful mindset that I describe in PlaneTalk has resonated with you too. As you say, there's nothing -- not a scrap of guitar music -- that can't be viewed against the simple backdrop that it teaches. The more you use it, the more everything becomes locked in permanently.
