  Me and Plane Talk.

Kirk has asked for a few words from people who have bought his Plane Talk material to give you an idea of what it can do for a player.
I started playing over 30 years ago and sucked big time for most of it. I have dyslexia which makes learning any kind of patterns very difficult. The many books I bought were all based on memorize this pattern or that. Not only couldn't I do that but, part of Dyslexia is not doing well with memory so I had two strikes against me.
I was resigned to just being a sight tab player till I stumbled onto Kirks' site. His material is so clear and simple that even with my disability,I could still follow it.
I can now play any chord anywhere on the neck without referring to chord books. I can instantly see chords I have never seen before anywhere on the neck. I can see all the intervals and note names . My ability to create melodies has sky rocketed. I can improv over backtracks now. The list goes on and on. Kirks' material opened up the mysteries of music for me.
I don't know how far I can go with P.T. with my disability, but I have come further than I ever thought possible. I can only imagine where players can get to without my disadvantages. Thank you Kirk for giving me music.

AT, I was dislexic for a while, actually twice now. When I was smaller I was dyslexic and was treated for ADD (thankfully not with ritalin)... a few years back a friend of mine started swapping words around as a joke and because it sounded cool if you switch some letters in words around I started to do it as well, first with small words and then later on into big six or seven syllable words. Before i knew it i couldnt stop... It took me about six months of training to stop doing it... Just to say i feel for your situation. :[

Oh and on Plane Talk, i must say it is worth the money. I have not had it long enough to be proficient in all the methods but after my first read i could play new chords after looking at the chord formula. I wish had bought the DVD with though... Maybe if I win the 10000 member contest Kirk will send me the DVD...

I'm probably at the same stage as WernHalen. While I think the PlaneTalk (you've got to love that pun for starters) material is extremely useful, I've not yet had time to fully incorporate it into my playing. But it's explained so well, I've no doubt I'll get there.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
