Ha... Kirk told me not to expect mine for 2 weeks, because I lived in the States, but it showed after just a week and a half on a friday. I ordered on a thursday, and got it that next friday. Not bad for such a long travel using USPS mail.
I read the book... but nothing clicked for me until I seen the DVD, then it all was sugar and spice and everything nice from then on.
AS A FURTHER NOTE.. I've got His
SLIDE GUITAR DVD too... and I've taken a look at it, and its SUPERB. I believe once I get a good slide, set a guitar up more for slide, I should have no problem impressing myself and others with slide guitar, because Kirk teaches you, well pretty much everything necessary to play slide guitar in that one video.
KIRK??? in the dvd you say that you use a 16 guage string and go up... wouldn't this be too much stress for a guitar neck? in standard or drop-d tuning?
ok... I've got his chord tone blues as well, but have not gotten to check it out yet.
I must say something though... I hear it on the DVD and on the website alot that using the
planetalk method isn't really scales, but I disagree!!! I believe planetalk teaches you how to use scales the correct way, and the easier way. It might not feel like scales because its not the same method as countless other books use of showing you endless diagrams of fingering positions, but it is scales wether you realize it or not! To me, planetalk has made scales a tangible reality now. Could be because I so easily combined my knowledge of scales with the planetalk method, and now I feel I could play anything... dorian in c? no problem... phrygian in d, again no problem... planetalk shows the way. combine minor with dorian? no problem. How much cooler can it get?
