  Is it for me, yet?

Well, I've hit a wall. Melodically, you could say, not technically.

I've been playing for 13 months now, and I'm getting quite good, technically.
I know about and understand quite a number of chords, I've learned intervals, I understand how chords and scales are relative to each other, how one colors the other and so on.
I've learnt a lot of techniques, and I can play pretty much anything if I'm stubborn enough.
Recently I've started 'improvising'. My teacher calls it improvising, I don't.
I improvise with scales as a map for where I am, problem is... I mostly use the pentatonic scale, and I simpy get stuck in box 1. I can play melodically without sounding too linear, but only in this box.... as soon as I try to move up/down the neck it's crap. So it gets rather linear anyway.
Well, those were the details.
In short, I could say the problem is that I've learnt so much and I know so much, but I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH IT, OR HOW TO DO IT.

So is PT something for me? Will it help me with this?

It sounds like you're the perfect candidate, Kittie. Those are common factors in many of the players who have sought out PlaneTalk. You seem to have a great attitude towards learning and practising so I think you could make real progress with it.

Yes, you are the perfect candidate, CK. I can pretty much guarantee that if it's melodic improvisation you're interested in pursuing, and you've hit the wall with scale patterns, PT will punch a big gaping hole through that wall.

That is EXACTLY the situation I was in. My teacher would play a chord progression and I'd try to improvise over it, but I never really understood where to go. With PT, you always know where to go. And the best part, from my perspective, is that you don't need to think in terms of scales - you will almost immediately break free of the pentatonic box. Best of luck!

Now all you have to do is take the blue pill and Morpheus will set you free... I put buying Plane Talk close to the revelation Neo had when he was shown what the matrix was. Just like in the movie you have to look for it first and you need to want it badly enough to take the plunge down the rabbit hole but then it is worth it in the end. See you on the other side Caotic Kitty...

perhaps this has already been done. But maybe some form of questionnaire in the forum so people/members can go through it and if they can answer all the questions (just to themselves) that would perhaps give people some indication of A) if they are ready for PlaneTalk, and B) what area's they would need to brush up on, 1) to be ready for PlaneTalk, but also in general, for those who just want to improve their knowledge

I dunno, maybe im just rambling......

This is a thread that Kirk put together some time ago PlaneTalk Frequently asked Questions which gives information about PlaneTalk and who it would suit.

Hope that helps.

I am filling in my order right now, woah.
I'll be looking forward to receive it (PT that is, not the order :O)!
How long time would it take to ship it to northern europe? 2 weeks or so?

also, on billing phone number... what is "ext."? for example, if my local number would be 12345, and the number for this specific town/area is 0225, is 0225 the number to put in "ext."?

Nvm, it seemed to work now anyways... Order sent!

Now... how/when can I get into the PT forum? ;P I know I probably won't understand anything said there yet, but I'd just like the feeling of being able to be there.

Congratulations CK, it'll probably take about 10 days to 2 weeks to receive the package. Kirk will organise the registration for you, don't worry. See you over on the forums.

Okay, not too long then, wonderful... By the way... What does the title "PlaneTalk" actually mean? Or will I find out once I have the book and dvd?
