  slide rule question

what's the difference between the The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule and the Plane Talk one? Are they essentially the same thing?

No, MissOhio, the actual design of the slide rule is the same, but what it displays is different ... that is to say, the GfB&B slide rule displays well known chord shapes in a nice easy to use fashion. It uses several inserts to do that.

The PT slide rule uses just one insert to display the lesson that the book/DVD teach. Since music is music and guitars are guitars, the PT information is also on those GfB&B inserts, but it might take you a long time to zero in on what that is.

Dear Kirk,

I was asking because I really can't afford the whole program and wanted to see what some of this was about. While I was waiting for your reply, I was looking at some the beginner theory lessons and after a certain point a giant bell just went off in my head. I suddenly saw the fretboard in a completely new way. I have to give you my deepest and sincerest thanks for that.

If what I just realized is the "trick" then that, sir, is well worth a hundred bucks. While, this new revelation is going to need a lot of practice in order to make things "go" , it has just cleared up basically every issue I have ever had regrading scales and chords and how they apply to improvisation. My understanding of the fretboard has been irreversibly deepened. Honestly, that is something that no other teacher or program has ever done.

I have to think that if your free site can do that then the rest of the program must be pretty interesting. At the very least it will explore this new way of thinking about the guitar. I would love to talk to you about this in greater detail, is there a way to email you privately? Anyway, a million thanks. I promise, I will order your program as soon as I am able.

Sincerely,

KWieler.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
