  Feel like an expecting Father

Driving myself nuts waiting for my copy of PT. Looking thru some of the info about it, I noticed a few mentionings of knowing barre chords...Uh Oh... am I going to be starring at my copy until I can learn to play barre chords. I'm just now getting semi-comfortable with open chords and haven't devoted any real time to barre chords yet..... PS... found out my mailmans name is Ray, he has 1 daughter and has been a postal carrier for 19 years, and married 22. I bet he's as anxious for me to receive it as I am, just so I'll quit pestering him{lol}.

P.T. is easier to absorb if you have the basics suggested in the Q&A P.T. Forum. You will just have to work harder and longer to get into it.

It's not so much the playing of barre chords as the understanding of what they are, X4SD.

Thanks allthumbs, thats something I need to do anyways.

Kirk, are you talking about what they are as in shapes or as in the overall pitcure of the moveable nut so to speak? I'm not sure of myself as you can tell, I'm just facing my own shortcomings and I have no problem leaving it right in the package until I can get the most out of it. Ready or not it will give me some more inspiration to push myself harder than I have been. Thanks for putting up with the questions.

You need to stop worrying so much, X4SD ... you're going to be stunned at the simplicity of it all.

Just knowing what barre chords are and how they can move up and down the fretboard is enough to know.

4String - you'll learn about a lot more than just barre chords....it's simple but it's deep at the same time, if that makes any sense. Not being able to do barre chords won't stop you from being able to learn the principles and put them to use.

If it's any consolation, I'm getting closer and closer to buying a bass, and I've never even touched one before in my life.....talk about facing my own shortcomings!

Be sure to have a cigar ready for your Postal Carrier when it arrives.
