It is becoming more common in the last couple of years. Believe it or not, this guy is very laid back compared to some players I have seen beating their guitats.

He plays alot like Keller Williams if any of you have heard him. He used to do some stuff with String Cheese Incident and has alot of solo stuff out. It's really pretty amazing. I wonder where that style origionated... Anyone know anything about its history?

Re- Justin King, there is no doubt that he is a very cool player, but like Kirk I prefer melody. Michael Chapdelaine (world famous classical guitarist) incorporates some percussive techniques into his melodic fingerstyle arrangements of pop songs, check out his video of 'Come Together' @ http://www.michaelchapdelaine.com/.
