Kirk on Aussie TV
About a year ago an old friend and recording artist John 'Swanee' Swan, brother of well known Aussie rocker Jimmy Barnes (of Cold Chisel) called me up and asked if I could help him with some demos. He'd moved to Tamborine Mountain when Clancy and I were in Canada. When I got to his house, he told me that a TV crew had arrived to do a short piece on him and his new neighbor, John Harley Weston. I hung around and wound up in the TV article playing a bit of slide ... I just found it on MySpace:

They could have mentioned my name!!

I remember the first time I saw that. Still a great view of the back of your head.

Lol! Is there anybody on Tamborine Mountain that is not a musical celebrity?
I'm confused. Not unusual these days. John Swan is Jimmy Barnes brother. Not sure how that works, does somebody have a stage name? John Harley Weston is John Swan's neighbour ...... everybody lives on Tamborine Mountain and the sound clip has almost as many audio tracks in it.
You did get one good profile shot in there Kirk but yeah, you certainly should have been in the credits too.

Swanee explained that to me, 737 ... lemme see ... they share the same parents, but after they were born, the parents split up and one of them took on the surname of his step-father ... I think that's it. I'll ask him again as I see him every day.
BTW, I played on many Swanee tracks way back when. I don't now if you remember "Lady what's your name", a track that got tons of airplay, but that's my Gibson J-50 twanging away throughout.
Another celebrity who moved here is Noni Hazelhurst. I introduced myself to her by letting her know I played all the guitars on that TV movie she made with Bryan Brown "The Shiralee".
Yes, Tamborine Mountain is the place to be!

Kirk there is nothing wrong with grey hair, and I should know! I've been grey since my late 20's. Nice clip.
Now when I talk to God he said he'd understand, Stick by me I'll be your guiding hand. But don't ask me what I think of you. I might not give the answer you want me to.

I'll have to get the Shiralee out on video (if there hasn't been a rush on it). I bet there's going to be some serious jamming up your way, but who plays tamborine?

Ah yes. Grey hair. Mine appeared about two days after I made my first carrier landing.
Got a brief view of your neighborhood and it looked mighty fine.
