Yes, Keith used to come down often to the Bayview Hotel in Sydney and listen to my band Chasin The Train when he was a whipper snapper ... and I wasn't. He's a great guitarist (as if I need to mention it) and we often wound up at the same country music festivals after he started up his own band.

I played slide on what I guess was his first album ... I can't remember the tune or the title of the album. He's an extremely talented Aussie and a gentleman. It wasn't long after that album that he moved to Nashville ... our loss, America's gain!

If you can tell me the name of the tune I played on and the album, I'd be much obliged. I seem to remember that it was just the one song, overdubbed long after he'd recorded the rhythm tracks.

He's now a great example of what you can achieve if you really believe in yourself and work and work and work. I keep waiting for him to call me up and ask me to join his band ... no word yet!

Cheers,

Yeah I keep waiting for that call too Kirk

But yes Marty, I can vouch for that. Keith is an Aussie boy. I also met him years ago when I'd say he looked more like he would on the album that Kirk played on. Probably late 80's early 90's I'd say.... They were bad hair days... Don't hold it against him though, we ALL had bad hair back then

Keith Urban!!!!! How cool is that Kirk!!! Keith is great; when I get home today I am going to look up the song on the cd

Two years ago I travelled to Nashville and I saw Keith performing live in The Ryman auditorium. He is truly amazing.

Did you guys saw his latest DVD "Livin' Right Now"? He gives a great show, on that same DVD you see his buddy and great guitarist Chris Roderiquez playing and singing next to him, Chris is also the guitarist of Kenny Loggins whom I both met in Nashville, great people, so down to earth

Hi marty, thanks for that ... 'Got it Bad', eh? I must admit, I can't remember much about the tune, but if it's a Keith tune, it must be good ... I hope my playing was OK!!!

I'm going to track it down ... I'm sure my pal Mick Martin who heads up the country band I sit in with from time to time will have a copy.
