  What does Mojo actually mean?

Don't laugh - I do kind of know what it means, but it seems to mean different things to different people or about different things. What do you think?

A mojo is a magic charm - a mixture of herbs, powders, nail clippings or hair, and possibly objects such as dice - that are designed to give supernatural powers to its owner.
It is most commonly associated with sexual prowess these days.

You can only boast about having such powers if you agree to wear an appropriate outfit that supports such claims

I was thinking more along the lines of a superhero costume, or perhaps for those moderators with megalomaniacal personality disorders, that of a supervillian.

Mojo is one of those things that if you have to ask about, you don't have.

P.S. (If anyone finds out, can you PM me, then we'll both know?)

Yes I know that it's some sort of charm. I tend to use "MOJO" when I'm pleased with my playing, ie "my mojo's working" Dont know why? but I've always used the word in association with music. Remember "Got my mojo working"

Now when I talk to God he said he'd understand, Stick by me I'll be your guiding hand. But don't ask me what I think of you. I might not give the answer you want me to.

Of course there are several connotations of 'Mojo'. Writing about 'Mojo' in a lyric is one thing, like Jim Morrison in LA Woman or BB King ..."got my mojo working".

But I believe, especially with musicians, when the adjective "Mojo" is used, it is used in the context of magic. Magic fingers or hands playing incredible music.

So if some tells you you've got your mojo working, take it as a great compliment.
