Something For Kush To Check Out!

Had the chance to have a good look at the new Joe Satriani "Live" DVD tonight.

It was great as I expected, but on the second disc there was a special treat from Joe's 2005 tour of India. He and his band visited Bangladesh, and another city in India (sorry, I forgot the name) but apart from the central focus of it being on Joe, they highlighted lots of kids (I'm assuming from the ages of 12 yrs to 18 yrs) going to guitar classes etc, and sitting in front of a guitar teacher with their guitars on their laps, with him showing them how to do various riffs, and tricks that Joe uses in his playing. They interviewed some of those students and it was quite interesting.

I thought if Kush could by some chance have a look at it, he may find it inspirational, but more importantly be reassured that he is not in the minority, and that there are lots of aspiring guitarists like him in India.

Kush, if you get the chance to read this, I hope you have the opportunity to have a look at this DVD and let me know what you think.

Hi Neil

I'm really sorry for missing this and for the delayed reply...I totally missed it. Sorry again for it Pal.

Thankyou so much for caring Pal, I will try my best to get the DVD, if you could give me the details - I'll be able to track it down.

Yes, actually I've heard too that, in the northern states of India, there are some good teachers - but traveling there would take me about 2 days by train..lol...

I wanted to post this today and I think its a good place to say that I have finally found a Teacher. She had learnt Classical Guitar and Piano from England and has been teaching classical Guitar for about 30 years. I talked to her over the phone and she's very kind and friendly

I also emailed her my recordings and Videos and she liked them. She said that for a self-taught student of 8 months - I'm quite good.

I have worked out a plan with her and I'll be travelling to her place every month or 2 months as it takes me about 10 Hours by road. I know it will be tough tavelling so far and every month, but I guess this is the best chance.

She says that she'll teach me Classical Guitar from the basics and Theory too, which will help in my Fingerstyle playing also. The thing for which I'm real happy is that she's very kind and encouraging... She says that I'm like her Son and she will be very happy to make me a good player. She also says that she wont charge me - as I'm very interested and dedicated... This also assures that she's very genuine and kind...I really hope that this is the God-sent chance I have been waiting for

I'm going for my first day - this Monday and really-really waiting desperately for the day to come

Take care Pal and have a Great Day, thanks again for the kindness and the "Fatherly love" you've always given me I really feel blessed to have such kind people in my life

Lots of Luv and Regards
Kush

Hi Kush, the title of the DVD is: SATRIANI LIVE (Joe Satriani)
Disc 1 is Joe's full concert recorded live in Anaheim, California, on May 02, 2006
Disc 2 is "Flying In A Blue Dream: Joe Satriani India Tour, May 2005"

I hope you can find it 'cause I'm sure you would enjoy it!

I'm glad for you that you have found another teacher that teaches Classical guitar. She sounds quite nice, but I guess you'll only find out what she's really like once you've had a couple of lessons from her. Anyway, it all sounds rather promising and I sincerely hope it works out for you Kush.

What are you doing about your other teacher that you were going to see? Are you still going to see him, or not?

Whatever happens, I wish you all the best with your new teacher and I hope you get the satisfaction that you deserve.

Cheers Kush!
