Hi Lynn, this was posted a while ago. It's more "how do you practice", but it might help.
I play for about an hour most days, but if friends come round....it becomes the wee hours.
I got blisters on my fingers........!

Out of a 24 hr day, I take half an hour off for sleeping, eating, and drinking. The rest of the time is spent with the guitar!
No not really! I try to get in at least an hour a day now, and more sometimes if I can manage it.

Varies from day to day. Every now and then none. I average 2 hours, but can can go as high as 4 or 5 playing through out the day. I would say normal would probably be at least an hour.

Varies from week to week for me...if I don't have a deadline and can do what I want, I can go as many as 6 hours (kids are in school and I work at home)...work days I may get in an hour

I as a complete beginner average about an hour or an hour and a half a day.
However thers a difference between just fooling around for an hour and practising for an hour, so its prob most important to practise WELL

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
Buy it now for only $10 |
