  Shout - Beatles Tribute Band

Hey all,
took the kids last night to the next town over for a free concert by Shout, a great Beatles tribute band. "George Harrison" is the father of one of the guys that I get together and make noise with. They were all excellent and the songs were spot on. "George", especially, was nailing every note on every solo with dead-on tone, everything.

The kids had a blast, and my 9-year old daughter spent most of the concert right at the edge of the stage, dancing around. The boys even had her come up on stage for a few numbers to be their official dancer (great- my daughter as a go-go girl. Takes after her grandmother- my mom was a dancer for Question Mark and the Mysterians back in the day).

It was a 2:15 show, with about a 15 minute intermission. They did the early stuff first, starting out, of course, with the Ed Sullivan intro. What really impressed me, however, was when they got to the Sgt Pepper, "White" album, Magical Mystery Tour, Rubber Soul stuff that had a lot of studio tricks in the original recordings. Having a couple good synths really helped and I was really blown away a few times by how they were able to pull it off. They wrapped everything up with an encore rendition of Revolution- man, that rocked!!!

Anyhoo- here's a link to their website- they are based here in Michigan, but they do some limited touring in the MW, so if you get a chance to see them and you love the Beatles (who doesn't?), go check them out:

That's cool Chris!

My wife is from Livonia MI and we go there twice a year, so maybe we can get a chance to see them!
