What's the one guitar you'd never sell?

Every one has a favourite guitar, but do you have one that has a lot of meaning to you?
One that you'd never sell?
Maybe for sentimental reasons?

My little Norman B30 acoustic. They don't even make that model anymore. I have had it for 30 years. It is the oldest thing I own. I can afford a better guitar now,but just can't do it. It would be like turning my back on my oldest friend.

I'll never let my Gibson J-50 go ... I bought her in '69 when she was 18 years old, she's been with me ever since. Hey! I met my gal Clancy when she was 18 and she's been with me ever since.

My Fender Tex-Mex Strat. It was my first real guitar and I really enjoy playing her. But I also have my Takamine and I play her alot to.

I'd never sell my Maton Messiah acoustic.
I've had it since new (1980), and I've worn away all the finish on the back of the neck, from thousands of hours of playing.
I think thats what makes it special to me, the fact that I can see all the hard work I've put in.

It would be my Gold Tone Reso with a 5 string neck. It started out pretty cheap sounding with a junk stamped asain cone. I've had it apart 3 times, and now with a Quarterman cone and ebony saddle it just screams. I also swapped out the original planitary tuning "pegs" with the best Schaller tuners I could find. I play in a little country/gospel band, and it's perfect for small acoustic settings. At home it's perfect for slide blues, tuned to open G with a high G 5th string. You go through your musical journey, and then one day you find something that just fits perfectly...for me this is it. With a little of my own swet and blood in it, it's even better.

Hey Ifour5,
sweet axe bro.
What gauge strings do you have on it?
High G?

I bet it would scream plenty with a p-90 stuck on it!

  Les Paul Custom

It's my Les Paul Custom that I inherited from my dearest friend who was killed in a car accident a few years back. It's an asesome guitar, 1975 vintage, three humbuckers, gold hardware, unbelieveable sustain. Besides all of that it was my friends axe and his wife left it to me. We used to play in a band together, and I still miss him everyday.

I will post a pix when I get a chance

Peace,
Denny...

Lighteningboy...I've got the Gold Tone strung with .012-.014-.018-.024-.012, yes, high G!...and, I have since put a pick-up in it! It just keeps getting better!

Oh yeah, here's my other main squeeze I'll never sell. National Radiotone Bendaway. It my first "really good" guitar. Got it new last year. They discontinued the model, so it might even be a collector guitar someday, who knows? Very intimate guitar. Very throaty, excessively loud when I get on it. Rules in an acoustic jam. Were playing our monthly rest home gig next Friday, and it will be the National's first time out. Here's a pic...oh yeah, my wife made the pic for me in photoshop 8)
