More Tommy!
Don't know if anyone has posted this, but Tommy did an interview with Acoustic Player Magazine (BTW, does anyone get this and is it any good?), and they have a pretty cool video interview along with the print. There are several nice quality clips of his playing in there. Enjoy.

Man, I would love to see that video, but I don't have high speed...
Those type of sites just tick me off, the whole world does NOT have a high speed connection, some of us would rather spend our money on things like musical instruments, CD's, food, etc. *sigh* Rant off......

Thanks Chris, I really enjoyed that. Tommy doesn't just play music, he is the music! He comes across as a very pleasant personality with his infectious laugh. An amazing talent.

Smurf42, High Speed is like the light bill for me, gotta have it. I don't buy CDs anymore, well seldom buy the actual CD in the case. I use Rhapsody to be able to play streaming versions of just about anything and download the tracks I want to keep for $0.89 a song or albums usually at $8.90. That service is $10 a month for unlimited music, add the $15 a month additional expense of high speed over my last dialup connection and it's a great bargain. I use my Line6 Toneport interface as a high end sound card and run the monitor outs to an Akai Stereo or my PA and it sounds great.
Also, I get that magazine and it is really decent, I also like Acoustic Guitar Magazine and their newest publication, Play Guitar Magazine. In fact I am in the current issue of Play Guitar, page 26, a little sidebar with a picture and something I wrote on learning to sing while playing. Can't play all the time so reading about guitar is the next best thing!
Great article and Tommy is absolutely amazing. If you haven't checked out his Woodsongs episode you owe it to yourself to enjoy it. An amazing guy.

I agree with John- I was on dial-up for years, resisting high-speed because of the cost. So what we did was cut the total overall cost of cable modem by switching phone service to Vonage. That cut about $25 per month off the phone bill, and leaves about $20 or so to cover the cost of high speed. It truly is one of those things that once you get it, you will never go back. For business travel, it has gotten to the point where I won't stay someplace that doesn't have high-speed (preferably wireless).
Thanks for the comments on the mags. Might need to look at getting one or two to check them out. Also, thanks for the heads up on the Woodsongs program. I went to the website and downloaded a ton of the programs to listen to. I just dig the acoustic stuff and there's something close to the soul about the traditional styles that I really like.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
