Played guitar & sang - solo for the first time

I have played a number of times with other folks at church for worship, variety shows, work events, etc. I have even played solo instrumental numbers. Tonight I played my guitar and sang, solo, for the first time. It was at our weekly Lenten worship service.

The song, Oh Sinner Man, is an old spiritual. Just strummed away with my thumb and sang from my heart. It was a good experience. I plan on doing it again - unless someone complains to the pastor (who is my wife ).

  The First time

I told some folks at our new church that i was interested in being with the worship band--so they said next week come before service and practice with us-I said fine I need some time to get used to playing with others( my first group experience), Sunday AM. I show up with my Ibenez AE10 and expect to get some pointers from the experienced guitar player of the group--surprise he had to work today and smiling in a cruel way the pastor informs me that not only amI practising with the the band-I am supposed to play for the congregation today as well----talk of sweating bullets--that was me.

Well done to both of you. I like hearing Elvis sing some of the old Gospel numbers. Perhaps you could post some examples for us to listen to?

Thank you for the support. Yes it did feel good. I asked my wife (the pastor) for some feedback, which she provided in baseball terms "Good solid single" That is good enough for me.

I had a hard drive fail on my computer, wiped out all of my data. It was time for a new computer anyway. So once my new computer shows up & everything that can be recovered has been I will record & post some of my stuff. Older stuff can be found at http://www.soundclick.com/guineapigsonastick or http://www.soundclick.com/irregulararrhythmias
