The Who
Does anyone here listen to The Who? I love them pretty much to death, and my best friend is obsessed with them, and I was wondering what some other people's opinions might be about them.

I'm a big Who fan, especially their earlier "mod"-era work like the My Generation and Happy Jack albums. Love the extended version of Live at Leeds, too.
Townshend's really under-rated as a rock guitarist, IMHO. If you can find the rare "Secret Policeman's Ball" album, he does some amazing acoustic covers of Who tunes.

I don't remember now which thread it's in but I gave a little background on my past backstage brushes with fame, anyway I did get to hang out with Roger Daultry and the rest of the band in their dressing room before one of there gigs back in the day. Probably in the mid to late 60's...so far back they were the opening act for Herman's Hermit's. So yeah, I can say that I am a long time fan of The Who

I love anythin though really, but I think "Tommy" was a great rock-musical by The Who.....they can take words that might not mean very much or not make too much sense written down, and put them to music which highlights them and makes people WANT to listen more and go through songs, lookin for that one that suits them the most. For me, I love their song "Old Red Wine" and I just like how they can take a song and put meaning to it to where it speaks to every part of you. I guess they just have a way with words..

If you were to ask my best friend that, she would totally agree. She plays that song on her bass all of the time, and it's fun watchin her get into it. Nice nocat
