Okay - you're going to be stranded on a desert island for the rest of your life with no radio, no internet, no iPod.....you can make ONE CD with your choice of twelve songs on it, and this will be all you have to listen to for the rest of your life. What 12 songs are going on your CD?
Mine:
1) Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin
2) On Fire - Van Halen
3) Moving In Stereo - The Cars
4) All I Wanted Was A Car - Brad Paisley
5) Fast As You - Dwight Yoakam
6) Reasons - Earth, Wind & Fire
7) Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald - Gordon Lightfoot
8) The Dance - Garth Brooks
9) Victim of Changes - Judas Priest
10) Blues for TJ - Larry Carlton
11) Aja - Steely Dan
12) Freebird - Lynyrd Skynyrd

Cool collections there, guys! Starsailor - no, it's not easy at all. I'm not sure I'd pick the exact same songs twice if I did it again without looking at the first list, and there are so many other songs that would be hard to leave out.

Yes it is very difficult, I had trouble deciding and I thought I'd work it out depending on what kind of a day I was having, I've covered a few genres, neat idea Stratrat

I was going to pick Walk the line but I thought a bit of humour would be better and this is a real classic
The song choices here would make one hell of an Album.

Starsailor - I have to admit that I only know three of the songs off your daughter's list!
Lots of great choices so far - I already see a few songs that could easily displace others on my list. Neil - "Lines On My Face" (the live version) is a great one, that could easily bump one of mine!

It's a pretty good list Stratrat some of those songs are worth checking out, my Daughters only 13 so I was impressed when she put in Stand By Me, that's one of her favourite films as well and it was good to see Aerosmith in there too, she plays Drums and Bass guitar so she has quite a range of musical taste, I've tried to get her to play guitar too but she's not interested at the moment, she's one of the Coolest 13 year olds I've met but I am slightly biased, anyway back to the thread

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
