  As My Guitar Gently Weeps

Great version of this song in the Induction into the Rock Hall of Fame Ceremony, with inductees Tom Petty singing, George Harrison's son (George Harrison was being inducted the same year he died), and an incredible Prince in one of the lead guitars. Even if he does a very ugly thing in the last seconds of the song.

Prince, what a great guitar player! Here and in his Purple Rain solo he reminds me of... Hendrix!!!

Note: I always try to insert the video as object, but it newer works... I'm forgetting something...

Prince didn't do anything ugly at all. That was all staged and rehearsed.

But yea, that performance is by far my favorite performance of that song. I love Dhani's expression as Prince leans back towards the crowd.

Yeah that was some great playing. I always did love that song.

Did I miss something or did he throw his guitar up in the air at the end? What happened to it?

Yes, that's what I meant ugly: throwing his guitar... I forgot that he does that many times, and there is someone on stage to pick it up. Well, after all, he is always using the same guitars!

You wouldn't think I was a big Prince fan during the 80s... and I still like him. Purple Rain solo almost made me pick up the guitar when I was young, but I felt I didn't have time for it, and no money either.

It was a tribute to George Harrison, I really didn't like what Prince did at the end and during the performance, he was just showing off, while everyone showed the respect to this great musician, at the end he throws his guitar and storming the stage when other musicians remain on the stage. Just simply didn't like his attitude.

There was no attitude.... You aren't listening. it was PRE-REHEARSED!!! Everyone on the stage knew it was going to happen, and none of them had an issue with it. It was PART OF THE PERFORMANCE! Just like the rest of the guys staying on stage; Prince throwing his guitar in the air and walking off was part of the performance.

It wasn't ugly at all, nor was it out of attitude.

Just my two cents, maybe you're right that i wasn't really listening, if that's part of performance, i'd say i don't really like that kind of "performance". It's just my opinion.

Just watched it on YouTube.

Anyone who can play like Prince can do whatever she/he wants in my book.

His solo was brilliant. He is certainly in my top 10 of all time. I would make him toward the top if I knew more of his material.
