YouTube - Johnny Hiland - Bluegrass Guitar DVD

The man's amazing. I don't see myself ever being able
to do that. Wouldn't even know where to start learning;
wouldn't know what to practice. Looks like he's hybrid
picking, but still...

Freaking amazing!

Johnny Hiland is extremely good- very versatile player. BTW, his signature model from PRS guitars is pretty awesome looking as well.
Good luck picking up on the bluegrass playing.

Yep, Johnny has some amazing chops - on the acoustic or the electric! That Guild sure is a sweet-sounding guitar, too...kinda Taylor-ish in its' brightness and clarity.

He may have been hybrid picking some of it, but a lot of it looked/sounded like banjo rolls and cross-picking. Bluegrass is some tough stuff to play! I've just started messing with some of it - here's a good site with some helpful tips and lessons for bluegrass. Another one here.

"I wish I could play that fast - then I would have the option of not doing that."

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
