  Good band- new album...

Don't know how many non-Canadians are familiar with the Vancouver band The New Pornographers, very good power pop band. Their newest release sounds excellent and is getting great reviews. Sounds like they've changed their sound a little and it's not as 'poppy', which might make them a little more accessible. Anyhow here's a link to NPR where they performed live for Seattle radio...

Looks like they have links to buy from their band's website. (I hesitate to link to commercial sites as I don't want to offend anyone by 'promoting' anything that directly.) The CD is called 'Challengers'. This is the fourth release by them, good songwriters. As far as distribution I have no idea where and when they release but being so close (within 50 miles, although I'm on Vancouver Island) I'm sure we'll be able to get it at the local stores. I've followed them for a while but kind of assumed they'd broken up or stagnated... far from it it seems...

Looks like they just took a time out to reflect 98Bones, I'll google for their Website

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
