Vincent by Don Mclean with Chet Atkins
YouTube - Chet Atkins & Don McLean - Vincent
I think everyone should listen to this once in awhile, it's good for the soul.

Chet played that in an odd tuning of a tab I saw. Open D with the 5th string tuned to something else while the rest were standard. Beautiful piece though.

Skip, I agree with you it is a wonderful song, but I think that it belongs to Don Mclean. This is only my opinion but I reckon Chet Atkins did it no favours in this video.

It is Don's song, he sings it alone on another youtube video, but if I remember right this one is the better of the 2 videos, Chet's part on the one I posted is a small part, there is also a video of just Chet playing Vincent, I haven't seen it in awhile, but he does a great job on it.
I love to watch Chet play, he plays what appears to be effortlessly.

The tuning for the Chet version is:
E
B
G
D

It's a piece I've been working on a bit lately. Someday, I'll record it and post it....
