  Cool guitar video links!

I hoped that might get your attention, I thought it would be good to have a post where we just put up links to cool videos (or sample clips) to watch or download.

Has anyone seen the whole of this, Edgar Cruz playing "Crazy little thing called love"?

(You will need Quicktime)

What do the moderators think? Currently there are several posts that link to Michael Chapdelaine & several more that link to Tommy Emmanuel & it's needle in the haystack stuff trying to find them. It would be great if they could all be posted in the same place then there wouldn't be double & triple ups.:-)

Lazy Dan

PS. No one seems to have mentioned Edgar Cruz in this forum yet. He is phenomenal!
Check out his videos & audio at http://edgarcruz.com/video/ & http://edgarcruz.com/albums.html (click on a CD to see/hear some sample clips)

Cool, man. His wonderfully effeminite picking-nails make excellent substitutes for snare drums!

There's one I posted earlier of some mindless shredtertainment by Allen Van Wert: http://www.musichopper.com/video.html#mid

And there's this guy:

Who would make an excellent bassist.

Finally, the dojo of Mr. Fastfinger (for those of you determined to work against the grain of Kirk's wonderful lessons )

We are working on a forum for puplic domain vids and other materials found on the net. It will be nice to have this all in one place. We would need some ground rules though. This is primarily a finger picking site after all so uploading lots of heavy metal shredding and such isn't going to teach our members much.

Hey, I gave you the beat box guitar guy, didn't I?

To be honest, the finger-style type guitar playing impresses me more than watching some guy shred for an hour. I included the Allan Van Wert one because he's offering some innovations in the tapping domain, having pioneered his "Robot tapping" technique that gives off some strange, spacey, often video-gameish sounds. The Mr. Fastfinger one though, is just plain fun. Make the mole people dance! Tell me otherwise afterwards!

Actually, while this one isn't neccessarily a video link, it will come in handy for any of you who (like me) are still trying to understand music theory as applied to the guitar. Here you go:

Excellent! I agree strongly that it should be 'fingerpicking' videos! (Also agree that it should only be a link to public domain videos.)

Maybe also 'fingerstyle'; 'chord melody' ; 'carter style'; songs arranged for 'solo guitar'; 'classical guitar' (including classical tremolo); or 'strum style that incorporates melody'; 'diads (power chords) with melody added & accentuated on the top'; or any other style of guitar playing which has melody as it's focus.

Because there is nothing better when there is just one person playing one guitar, than hearing melody & accompaniment played at the same time, however it is done.
Unless of course the performer is singing. Well that's my opinion anyway & I'm sticking to it unless I get paid lots of money.

Do you know of any other styles of solo guitar playing that I missed in the above list? Have you seen any cool videos that you can put a link to? Has anyone seen (or got) the Edgar Cruz 'Crazy...' video above?
(I have got heaps to work on at the moment, but down the track I would be tempted to buy it just for that song.)

Dan
