  Play anything besides guitar?

Do you play any other insturments?
What did you learn first?
What do you play most often? ect.

I also play harmonica, more or less, actually started out with it but since the guitar i dont spend as much time with it anymore. I also am borrowing a keyboard and trying to learn to play it/ read music, and have been having a great time. I have found it to be very useful when tring to figure out or write melodies and chord progressions, it is also helpful when trying to train my voice. I have found that every new insturment I try furthers my overall understanding of music, and actually helps me get better at others. So how about you?

I play guitar primarily, however I do have a full drum kit that I mess around on too. It's my friends that I jam with that play the drums mostly though. I also play bass guitar, but took back my bass and amp that I was renting over the past few months, so it's been a few weeks since I've slapped out any riffs on the bass. Harmonica is something else I'll play around with, but I mostly leave that to one of my buddies that's really good at it. I've probably got about 6 harmonicas in different keys.

And, when I'm lonely, I play my one string banjo...

I started on the piano. Still have one in the house. It's not very portable (70 years old and about 1/2 a ton) but it's fun. I tried the mandolin for a while, but it wasn't the sound I was looking for (thought I'd play with my brothers while they played guitar - family band) It made a nice wedding gift for my brother - now he has to play it while I play the guitar! I also have a strumstick in the house which is fun to make noise with.

I devote most of my time to the guitar. I did however recently pick up a beginner mandolin that I am learning . Also, my roomate has a banjo that has really sparked my interest. The first song I learned on guitar was Dixieland Delight by Alabama ..lol Im a country boy you could say.

I keep a mandolin and a banjo around, also a harminica and a tamborine. Dont play them very well at all. But I can look up chords and play songs when I want too.

I've been playing an Eb sax for six years. It's beat to ****, but still sings nice. We've also got cherry red battery of Yamahas in my back room (which replaced the old Ludwig drumset two years ago). My dad's the drummer of the family, but every once in a while I'll give them a good whacking. Before I played guitar I played Bass- inspired by my Uncle- who'd been paying Bass since he was 12. He gave me his Kramer alluminum-neck when I was 11. I switched to guitar as the next logical step when I was 13, largely expedited by a Led Zeppelin DVD I got a couple moths later

I'm learning Blues Harp too. Been playing guitar for a year and now I'm learning Harmonica. I have to lock my dog in another room to practice cuz he howls the whole time I practice.

My dad bought me a Clarinet when I was seven and wanted me to learn. So I had a very good teacher and played for another five years until I craved to learn the guitar.

Even now if I go to play a Clarinet, it doesn't take me too long to pick it up again. But it's been a while.

Mainly playing guitar, but lately I've been messing around on the electric keyboard. Figuring that out fairly easily. I've mainly just use the rhythms on it though. It has good drum beats and stuff like that. It helps to have a drum beat when I want to put some solo licks together.

I started with piano. Did that for about 10 years. Towards the end I really started getting into it because I started doing contemporary songs. I found that it was a great way to relieve stress. Probably wasn't the best for the piano but it did me the world of good. Also tried the keyboard for a while. It was the obvious progression for me. Was forced to play the tin whistle in school. Tried the button accordion around the same time but didn't really have the motivation or dedication to keep that one up.

Now I'm taking up guitar. so obviously that is the most played at the moment.

I played drums for around 15 years. First bands I was in from high school through college were while I was the drummer. Than around the time I got married I was getting my finances cleared prior to the wedding, sold the drums . Than I didn't play anything for a short while when I started on bass. Now acoustic for last couple years.
