  Seger

Just a quick question......Obvoiusly being from Mi we all love Bob Seger up here. I was just wondering is he as well appreciated all around the country? Sometimes it seems us Michiganders seem to put a little more praise on our homegrown rock than maybe others do. Just curious?

Ohh Yeah, he's generally appreciated everywhere. Kinda like Jimmy Buffet, but more soul.

Oh I remember ,Oh I remember ,Oh I remember hearing him many many times down here .

Seems like I've been having one of those days
Since sometime back in 1998
And a turnaround is surely on the way
Or maybe that's me spinning down the drain

A lot of fans on the east coast as well. Definately a concert performer, everyone should get to see him at least once.

I think Seger is pretty universally appreciated. Most of his stuff is a little too mainstream/commercial sounding for me, but I can certainly appreciate his genius and his appeal. "Night Moves" is a great song, as is "Main Street".

My wife is from Michigan (grew up around Detroit), and she was absolutely shocked the first time I told her that I wasn't a huge Seger fan.....she grew up listening to him, and as Somedayillplaywell said, he's highly revered by Michiganders!
