  Jerry Donahue of the Hellecasters

I don't know if many of you know who he is but I had the chance to sit in his workshop last Monday night here in Florida. He is on tour promoting his new signature series Peavey JD Omniac Guitar. Check your Music Centers to see if he is coming your way. His music is just awe inspiring. He is truly the "Master" at bending strings. He makes that Telecaster sound like a steel and a whole bunch more. Don't miss the chance to see him if he comes to your town. You are in for more than a treat.

I am just getting into playing tele. It is like learning to play all over again. Great skills involved to play with twangy goodness.

Yep - the Tele's pure simplicity gives you nothing to hide behind. Playing the clean twang makes it even harder, as you don't have all the distortion and fx to cover up your mistakes. I'm on the same path, and really enjoying the Tele.

I was first introduced to Jerry Donahue and Wil Ray on the "Guitar Show" shown over here a few years back and was impressed by Jerry's string bending behind the nut and how he has developed that into his style of playing. He seems to have it down to a fine art. Actually I really like what the Hellecasters are all about with their particular brand of music.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
