Thumbs up   Calexico

Anybody else like this band? They aren't what you would call a guitar band, exactly, but some songs are rather guitar driven. I just can't get enough of these guys right now.

For those who aren't familiar and want to see what I am talking about go to:

www.casadecalexico.com

On the links page you can be directed to a bunch of mp3s and hear them for yourselves. They do a really wonderful cover of the old Love song "7 and Seven Is..."

You can also click on their mp3 link for more.

Thanks for that link stubbie7. What great rhythms ... I've always loved those Latin American feels, very infectious. Ry Cooder often dabbles in these feels also, and does it so well.

D'oh! In my viral haze (some kind of flu just now) I got confused (might be just old age) I gave some bad information. The cover they did was Alone Again Or.

I think this will take you to it:

Kirk, maybe that is why I like them, I was always a Ry Cooder fan. His new album sounds great.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
