Slidey stuff

Hello ,
hopefully the link to Fat Rabbit Blues here works
http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page...?bandID=169162

This is a tune I recorded for a fellow Big Road Blueser who lost three fingers in a truck accident, really bad news.

Anyway I recorded it on my Suzuki , strung with 13's and with a brass slide bored to an internal cone for a good fit.

The track is recorded on a Sharp mini disc with small mics which do wonders in all recording situations I got them from Walter Tore who recorded his live cd's on them

I toyed with reverb , but as one of the mics was pointing away from the guitar I think there is a subtle seperation thing going on. The only effect is a bit of hard limiting.

adios,
Lovat

Hi Lovat,
I really enjoyed Fat Rabbit Blues.
Great song, played with a lot of true emotion.
Its a terrible thing that happened to poor old Fat Rabbit, losing his fingers.
My heart goes out to him.
Its a nice tribute.
I bet its the first time a hound dog has done something nice for a fat rabbit!
Woof woof!
LB.

I'd rather a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

Houndog,
I like the tune! It's a nice gesture, and song. In addition, the other songs there were equally a treat. I dig your "rags". (can you really say that?) Inspiring Play, for me.

Thanks Denny,
I have resisted lifting licks from Ry Cooder...but some do seep in there

Here is a wee quote to keep us all going ...

"I practiced twelve hours a day, every day, until my fingers were bleeding, trying to get the same sound as Elmore James. This went on for weeks and weeks, and finally someone told me, 'He plays with a slide.'"

- Robbie Robertson, at the 1992 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony honoring Elmore James
