Nice one schermerberger ... nice sound, good pitch. I especially like the classical piece. Keep 'em comin'.

The url: if you include the http:// bit, you don't need to do anything; it becomes a link automatically as you can see http://www.soundclick.com/schermerberger . Your mistake was not to include the closing tag, the one with the forward slash (/) in it. You need to click URL to open the tag, then write the link, then click URL again and it will close the tag.

Thanks guys. I'll try to get another up soon and get my links right. Allthumbs, I used standard tuning. There wasn't need to drop the D. I's predomenantly on the 2,3,4th strings.

I recorded it quickly on Audacity, but that thing keeps crashind on me and I'm not sure why. It doesn't lock up but simply causes my computer to reboot. Any thoughts?

I quit using Audacity. I had latency issues with it. Try multi track,it's seems fool proof.

  Top'd Up

incase any of you are interested, I top'd up my soundclick with another quick dity named "Go Lucky". Before I get too big on myself and/or stuck in a rutt too quickly, will someone give me some critical ear feedback on the slide playing? This time I was trying to do a "triple-stop" I think, where you pluck 3 strings simultaneously but then I's trying to right hand mute 2 of 'em and let 1 ring out and slide up, FWIW, if you catch it.

Thanks again for the recording help Allthumbs, I've been using multitract lite and then using audacity to convert to mp3.

nice one sb. Ya, you did a good job of that triple stop to single string slide. maybe a little more vibrato to accent some of the notes would be good. Sounds like once your more confident with your playing, you'll move up to the next level.

I was hoping to hear from you. Thanks. With those triple stops, I really have to concentrate even to hack'm out, the small motor skills need perfecting. With my vibrato, I'm not sure how to turn it off! once I start it up its like I get the shakes or something and start to sound like a hamond organ. I'll work on it though.

I'd like to know what the next level is...

plus, i'd like to know if you think its worth it to get the fullmonte subscription to soundclick? I've been enjoying tweaking it out some but not sure if i'd use it. For now the basic suffices. Thanks again... feel free to make more coments

Hey there Jourdan,
I checked out a couple of your soundclick tunes.
I really like the vibe you've got going on in the Country song.
You have a great sense of melody.
I have a little tip for you regarding vibrato.
Sit in front of a mirror, and watch your hand, as you gently move up to and down from the note.
Do it slow, with purpose, don't go spastic!
It should allways be well controlled and smooth.
Slowly speed up, over a month or two.
To get it fast, let your biscep flop around; it kind of wobbles.
Practise all different types, wide, short, fast, slow, agressive, sweet.
Vibrato is your main meal when playing slide.
Watching yourself in the mirror seems to help a lot, just don't let anyone catch you! (They'll think you love yourself).
I've had many students who found this helpfull.
Let me know if it helps.
LB.

I'd rather a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

Thanks a lot Lightnin'
I've been hoping for some more constructive help in addition to the encouragement received. I'll try it mirror and all (my wife just laughed at the "love yourself bit").
When you say for vibrato, do you mean note slides included or when you said "wide" you really mean a wide vibrato movement?
I was inspired by your songs and gave open D a whirl for the afternoon and put up a slightly muddy recording. give it a spin. It's called "Bandits Theme".
