Fusion backing track

Here's an intersting BT to play to. It's by Carlos Eduardo Arellano, a fantastic Venezuelan guitar player (non slide). This chord progression really keeps you on your toes.

The BT is here: http://www.carlosarellano.com/add-a-track/ where you'll also find the chord chart. Muscle memory not required for this one, let me tell ya, this one needs to be plotted out a couple bars ahead at least.

Here's my take on slide:

I'd love to hear some others!

Kirk

Hi Kirk,
I gave it a whirl. It's a bit out of my league at this point but I'd rather play tennis with someone better than I so I get better quicker. This is the first time I used a backing track. It was fun. I experimented a bit with drop "D" but didn't end up needing it.

Your braver than me. I worked on it for 3 weeks and just couldn't get in the groove. The timing is all over the place.

braver has nothing to do with it... more like capricious or something. Anyway I'm still trying to get a grip on what my options are with this thing. Timing is one thing, I could do better with my pig sticks (fingers) but being where you want to be when you want to be there is the trick so I'm trying to keep it simple and sing songy. Thanks Allthumbs!
I couldn't get Kirks song to play it's a M3U do you know what that is?

It is not uncommon for these streams not to work. It depends on the browser your using. There is an embeded java script in some forums which is very finicky abot what browser you use. I just do the download.

Good one schermerberger ... it's certainly not an easy set of changes to negotiate, but I could hear that you were thinking about where to go next and not just hoping for the best. That's what it's all about, really, isn't it? You don't need to be an Music Theory expert to understand the basic rules of melody ... just the knowledge that melody is firmly attached to chords is all you really need. Seeing the chord as the whole fretboard is the trick. The rest is mere detail.

Thanks for posting!

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
