Wall of Slide.

Bens' slide work got me hungering for a little bit of sliding myself. I recorded my 4th run through. I grabbed the nearest guitar, my alleykat with flatwound 11s on it and used a 60s metal tone setting on my modeler I am surprised it came out as well as it did all things considered. Clams here and there, but that's the fun part, making a rough outline and then going for it.

Did a quick take using my Alleykat with 11 flat wounds on it just to see what would happen. Used my Pandora modeler set to a 60s metal tone. I need to work more finger picking in there though:o

A little Pandora III from Toneworks. They are pretty cheap on ebay. I got mine for 68 bucks.

Hi Allthumbs,

I like this one. It is a wall of slide. Once you get about to 1:15-45 into it you really give it to us. The latent slides do it. Good show! The vibrato is well executed. You sound more confident in this one.

Where did you get or how did you do the backing tracks?

six strings bangin' on a board, (makes it sound simple)

Great stuff Marty! You mean all I need is 68 bucks and I can sound like that?
Ok, dumb question, but what do you mean by clams? I see that reference sometimes in people's posts. Does it mean a rogue note?

It is when a finger wanders off and hits a flat or sharp note that was unintended. When you really scramble a tune you have made clam chowder or have entered clam city. You get the idea.
Sure you can sound like that. A good distortion pedal, damping strings behind the slide with your left and unused strings with your right hand, a heavy brass slide and a dash of practice and your good to go.

That was some sweet playing and very, erm, raunchy. Just as well my wife's asleep at the moment.

You got it right Todd a clam would be a note which doesn't sound too good. Didn't hear any in this take though.

Fantastic, Marty ... great tone, great lines, great vibe. You now need to form a small combo and get out there and perform!

Hey, where'd you learn all those double stops?

Unfortunately I can't share the bt. It is from a private forum and they are ok with members doing takes over their bts and sharing them but, not sharing the bts themselves.
