Diana's Ditty

Ok, this is the first time I've recorded my singing. And it'll prolly be the last
It's pretty rough but it's a love song to my wife, Diana and I thought I'd share it. Hope you like.

-Doug

Here's the lyrics...

Diana's Ditty

I want to spend the rest of our lives together
and all that baggage, we'll just park at the door
I want to stare into the crackling fire
and we'll roll around giggling drinking wine of the floor

I'll wake up beside our arms wrapped together
your turn to make coffee darling, I did it before
we'll read the paper and tell each other stories
it's my belief that that's what life is for

We'll buy a farm with chickens, ok and maybe a horse
they'll be my chickens - the horse is yours of course
and maybe a goat, and maybe a cow
how do you raise chickens, well I guess we'll find out how

and in the winter we'll just stare out on the snow
swaying in the kitchen to the radio
I'll be standing behind you my arms on your waist
oh, that's the life, please give me a taste

I don't want to think I just want to feel
you don't have to think to know what is real
I don't want to think I just want to be
I used to look but now I see

I want to spend the rest of our lives together
and all that baggage, we'll just park at the door
I want to stare into the crackling fire
and we'll roll around giggling drinking wine of the floor

Wow. That was great. You could get out and gig with that. Great lyrics, smooth playing and a great voice. Congrats.

That is a great song Doug!!

I'm sure your wife loves it, and I think your singing is wonderful - do MORE of it, OK?

Great job Doug!
Reminded me a bit of a Crash Test Dummies song from a while back.. let's see... from their first album.. Ghosts that Haunt Me... hold on... web search.... there!

Yes, it was called the Country Life. Sort of a goofy song about a man and wife wanting to move out to the country where "nobody would ever know we'd once been city folks and owned sporty cars and fancy homes."
I love the line about rolling around on the floor drinking wine!
Let's hear some more tunes!

Thankyou everyone.
I wrote the song a few years ago (but recorded it yesterday). Di and i (after looking for a while) did not buy a farm but we do live in the country on a little river with beaver damns. It's magical. I still want chickens and she still wants a horse.
But our two dogs are challenge enough...

That was really good Doug! You never know, one day ya just might end up with those chickens and a horse ta-boot.
